This quest for a best way to quit smoking assumes much more significance that ever in the context of increasing rate of maladies associated with smoking and tobacco consumption. In today’s world, smoking continues to be the major health retarding habit. Smoking is increasing on an unprecedented rate even in the face of popular awareness programmes.


Smoking the Growing Health Hazard:

While looking for an easy and effective way to stop smoking, we should know the fact that smoking continues to be major contributory factor for the maximum number of diseases and health problems. Major health hazards like cancer, hyper tension, cardiac problems, arterial blocking, diabetes, and a whole host of other ailments are either the result or are aggravated by smoking or by tobacco consumption.

Ironically enough, the more the mass awareness programmes engineered both by local administrations and international agencies like the United Nations and its own wings like the World Health Organization (WHO), the higher is the incidence of smoking among the new generation!


The Stress and Strain:


An easy and effective way to stop smoking need be popularized with out any further delay. The primary reason for the precipitation of this malady is the changing lifestyle today. The stress and strain associated with and the hectic schedules and lifestyles have contributed a tension-ridden life. This aspect aggravates the tendency to smoke and many small time smokers have become chain smokers.

Anyone who looks for an easy and effective way to stop smoking should know that all the ways are not effective for all. While some may prove effective for some, some other ways may be effective for some others. Stop smoking patches may be effective for some people. Some use stop smoking pills, some others stop smoking gum, etc. However, in spite of the various methods available, the actual success rate in stopping smoking is very low

Trying Different Methods:

As I have already mentioned, it is not easy to find an easy and effective way to stop smoking and become successful in quitting success for ever. The success level is all related to the psychology, lifestyle, heredity, awareness, willingness to accept and adapt, ambition, will power and a whole host of other personal characteristics. Therefore, it may not be easy to single out one particular method to stop smoking. It is advisable to try multiple methods so that some of them may be found suitable.

My Friend’s Success:

My friend’s success points to how an easy and effective way to stop smoking can be found out if we are open to enquiry. John, a lawyer by profession like me, was quick to realize that the basis of this habit like any habit which lies in the subconscious mind and which prompts the conscious mind for the need at some particular points. In the habit of smoking, the nicotine content in the blood also has a contributory role.

John, after his inquiry and research, found out the psychological root of smoking and found out an easy and effective way to stop the habit. Whenever he felt the impulse to smoke, he would perform some tai chi exercise which could relax his mind and he felt tension free. By concentrating in the exercise, his conscious mind was diverted from the impulses of the subconscious mind and he could evade the smoking impulse. This he repeated several times and days continuously and his concentration in the tai chi whenever he felt smoking helped him in evading smoking. His will power and keen interest were contributory factors in effectively stopping smoking. Now it is the ninth successful year after John quit smoking.
